TIMERIDERS - THE PLAYLIST

alex-blog-editingI don’t know about you, but when I read I like to have the world around me blocked out, so I tend to put on my headphones and play some music. If you haven’t ever tried that, then you’re kind of missing out. It adds a new dimension to any book you’re reading, just like, for example, if you added the sense of smell to a movie, imagine how much more ‘in’ the world you’d be!

I tend to pick music that doesn’t have vocals though…or if there are vocals, then either foreign, or very back groundy. Also, it’s music that is very sympathetic to what I’m reading, for example a horror book and it would be gothic, industrial stuff. Fantasy, well, I can’t help but go for something folky, celtic.

I also tend to to have a playlist for when I’m writing. So I thought it might be quite cool if I let you know what I’m listening to as I write TimeRiders, and if you fancy giving it a go, you could try out that music as you read – atleast you and I would be on the same wavelength as far as the writer/reader relationship goes.

So, if you’ve got SPOTIFY, then you can grab my playlist. Here’s how:

1) Copy the address below and paste into your explorer/firefox/safari address bar and go.

2) You’ll get a ‘launch application – Spotify?’ type dialogue box. Just okay that and Spotify will open with my playlist right in front of you.

3) If you want to keep this playlist, then drag the playlist title onto your list of playlists at the left of the screen.

And here’s the bit to copy and paste:-

Enjoy!
