BEST FANTASY ADVENTURE!
In celebration of 70 years as a publisher of children’s fiction Puffin today issues a press release listing what it considers to be THE BEST 70 CHILDRENS BOOKS OF ALL TIME. You can see the article in the The Daily Mail. and the Guardian.
And…ahem…yes, TimeRiders was nominated the ‘Best in Fantasy Adventure’. I’m stunned and not a little humbled. I need to go sit down in a dark room somewhere and think about this for a while. But, I thought I’d just blog-it-up for you first so you’d get my immediate reaction. You know, a hot off the press kinda thing.
To give you an idea how speechless and totally dumbstruck I was by this announcement please refer to the image attached. Yes, that’s me approximately two minutes after recieving the email informing me of the article. Look at that face…bless…I’m competely bewildered, almost look like a startled rabbit caught in the headlights of an oncoming truck. Awww. Just look at that chubby little coconut face, quite unsure which facial expression to go with.
See now, that’s why writers write…and don’t present TV shows or generally appear in public. We’d frighten the little ones.
